The Anasazi people were a prehistoric Native American civilization centered in the Southwestern United States. They built beautiful adobe and sandstone homes along and inside cliff walls which can still be visited today. These villages, or pueblos, were left behind by the Anasazi when they migrated across the US around 1200. "Anasazi" is a Navajo word meaning "Ancient Ones."

The Lisu are an ethnic peoples who originated from Tibet and now live in and around Thailand. Their unique form of animist and ancestor worship marks them as a very spiritual group. Their villages are usually built close to water, especially waterfalls as they believe water has a special power. The women wear garish, brightly flamboyant costumes and many different accessories. The Lisu history is passed among generations in the form of a song; today, the song is so long it can take more than a week to sing.

The Yupik are an indigenous Eskimo people who live in many parts of Alaska. They were mainly sea hunters who respected and revered the sea. The killer whale, raven and wolf were considered sacred and could not be killed.
Boys were raised in the ena, or the women's communal house until they were five. Then they moved to the men's communal house, known as the qasqig, which was often next door. Each group taught important skills such as sewing, cooking, and weaving for the girls and survival and hunting skills for the boys. Every winter, the young boys and young girls would switch houses and learn the other's crafts. Boys would learn how to cook and sew and girls would learn toolmaking and hunting skills.

The Ovambo are a very fierce and spiritual culture living in Namibia in central Africa in a place called Ovamboland. They speak Oshiwambo and live in flat, sandy plains. The rainfall is heavy, submerging nearly 3/5ths of their homeland during each rainy season. Recently, through the influence of the Lutherans, the Osambo people have become influenced strongly by Western culture.
Historically, the Ovambo people placed great importantce in their magic/religious superstitions. They believe in a supreme spirit named Kalunga that takes the form of a invisible man that lurks around the people. If any violate sacred ceremonies or break forbidden rules such as not removing their sandals or letting a ceremonial fire go out, great evils come to the tribe.
