Hey guys,
This one doesn't look to be too bad.
Stacy and I were talking and we decided that it would be cool if we could each create a puzzle and then as a tribe vote for which one seems to be the most difficult and that would be the one we use. So, if you feel like making a puzzle then post it in here. Then whichever one has the most votes by tomorrow afternoon should be the one we submit to Sam.
Does that sound good to everyone?

A good puzzle will probably contain several repeated letters at the "joints" of the puzzle, maximizing the potential combinations for each particular slot. Of course, the puzzle should have only one workable solution.
I'll see what I can brew up.

Here's the word list, done ugly for the other tribes: And the solution: N O M A D S _ B U G L E O B E S E _ _ U S U A L M E R I T _ _ G U A R D A S I D E _ _ L A R G E D E T E R S _ E L D E R _ _ S _ S A S S _ S _ S _ _ _ _ _ S _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ S A S S _ S _ _ _ H A U L _ _ T E A M S _ A C R E S _ E A V E _ _ U R G E _ _ A V E R _ _ L E E K S _ M E R E _ _ I'm a little too lazy to make the solution grid right now, so I might do it later. Or if someone wants to be generous...

Hmm. The code tag does not do what I thought it did. I think you get it though.

I had one earlier that I thought would work, but it ended up having like 4000 different possible scenarios in which it could be solved. so here's a newer one: tapirs tails rhea tarps tank pails seated sews campos lick osiers earthy kill grab socks itch cook bath bulb booked halt solo talk lost oath kiln okra disc

Wow, Ryan!!! Yours looks amazing!! (Your puzzle that is! I think we have an excellent chance of winning this! This was harder than it looked, but it still was fun..Mine looks a little different because I have a MAC...I'm proud of myself that I somehow managed to fit the word "anions" into mine..Ha ha!!!

Sorry so messy, but like I said, I'm not good with a MAC..I have a funny feeling we'll be using Ryan's anyway.

Are you guys having a proble with getting your words in each box, either my font is to big or just plain odd. Can someone give me some tips on what to do.

That's a really good one, Doug. The biggest benefit that it has over mine is that it doesn't provide a clear place to start. Mine can be figured out if you realize that the boxes are symmetrical and that the sasses are in the middle. But mine might have a greater intimidation factor in its corner. So I say it's still up in the air which one we use. Oh, and my solution.

Oh, and I totally overlooked yours, Eric. Looks solid too!
Doug, it looks like the left side of your blank grid is a little screwy. The batch of four black spaces surrounding the R and S of "airs" needs to be shifted down one.

Great catch Ryan...Yeah, something got messed up when i was doing it, and I thought i had corrected it. I've never been very good with computers, and this MAC is a whole new world for me. Eric's is very good too. So, I guess what we have to do is vote....I'll be online tomorrow afternoon around 4pmCST when it's due, so I'll submit whichever one has the most votes to Sam at that time. So, what do you guys think? Here's my corrected one.

Sorry Chuck...You can see from my posts that I had my own frustrations with my MAC.

I'm gonna try to finish mine tomorrow, this part of the challenge isn't my strong point I think I'll do better on the solving part. Are we most likely going with Ryans creation?

I don't think we can use Ryans it says we can't use the same words more then once.

I think I'm gonna go ahead and vote for Doug's. It's world class! It's got no clear starting point, and that's gonna be key.
Also, it looks like you posted the wrong grid again.

I like it Ross, this might be our new go-to puzzle. Two suggestions, if you would like to use them.
One, turn Apps into Apples. then you can expand in the lower-right corner.
Two, turn Grace into Trace and Craps into Scraps. Then you need any word that ends in -ST to extend into the upper-left corner.

Or you could make up 4 x 4 squares for him Ryan, since you're so good at that!

I don't mean to be rude, but if you are going to use Doug's somebody's gotta clean it up lol. I can't tell which are squares and which are supposed to be black. Make it look like all the other grids. =)
