Hey guys, if you haven't noticed, IC2 instructions are up at the bottom of the main forum.
Any ideas on creating the puzzle? I don't have any great ones, other than trying to have one person create a list and another creating the grid. But then more than half of the tribe is missing out...
As for solving, I can't make Saturday at 1 PM because of private lessons. I'd much prefer Friday 10 PM, but both of the other times are good for me. What are y'all's preferred time to do the solving?
Peace out, guys!

Hey guys, I couldn't think of a good way to split up the work either, so I figured I'd just make one so we'd have something to fall back on, and then we can figure out a better strategy and make something better. It seems to me like the key is to have words that fit in as many possible places as possible, so I made a ton of 5-letter words with R S and E in the 3rd and 5th positions... anyway, here's what I came up with: So yeah, that's just one possibility, but I'm also more than happy to do something else if we can come up with a harder solution... any ideas? ETA: Maybe it would be better with an even mix of 4s 5s and 6s?

Ethan, that's awesome. Puzzles really aren't my thing honestly, so I'm not sure I can be much help offering advice on them lol. But the one you made is totally fantastic.
Also I'm not sure if any of those times work too well, because I'm not totally sure of my schedule at this point. Is there any way I could do a Saturday morning time? Is that possible Sam? If it's not, just let me know, I can figure something out.

Great work Ethan. I do have an idea though, if you give me a few minutes I'll try and put it into a visual form 'cause its difficult to explain.

Good Job Ethan.
And for part #2, I am really not sure when I will be able to do it. I am going home tomorrow and I'm going to a party so I would't be back until Saturday. On Saturday I'm going shopping and I'm not sure if I will be home at 7.

Friday is the only time I can do it.

I can do it Friday at 5CST. We don't have to do it all together, right? Also, I made this graph... it might be harder to solve, but it'll be a ton harder to fill in, too... but if someone wants to attempt it, here it is:

No, we get to do it separately, I think.

Ethan, do you have the word list for that puzzle, or were you just offering the template? More words = more possibilities = longer solving, but it'd be difficult to make a puzzle like that up

yeah, I just made the template, cause I agree, it would take a really long time to come up with a solution for that one. But wanted to offer it if someone had a ton of time

I'm fine with either of the puzzles and I trust you guys to make the best decision I'm off to work, in case of someone needing to contact me I'll give you my email address that I can check while I'm there (normally I use it for school and family, but <3) - jamie.andreson@gmail.com Otherwise, good luck with the challenges and see you all tonight!

I say Jamie's puzzle. There are more words which would make it more challenging.

After looking at both puzzles again, I think I'm gonna vote to send Ethan's in to represent Anasazi. It's not that I don't like Jai's, but Ethan's seems alot harder imo. You can't crack Ethan's at any place, while you kind of can with Jamie's.... both are 10x better than anything I could come up with though.

Hey guys, So I made mine a little more homogenous, here's the new and improved version: If it's all right, can we please use this one? I hate to be overbearing etc, but the truth is that this one is much harder than Jamie's. I think that most of the other tribes are going to try to do something similar, with having as many words as possible, because in theory it sounds like that would make it harder. But if you actually try it, it actually makes it much easier, because each word has very few places where it could potentially go. For example, I can pick a random place on Jamie's, say the 4-letter EARN on the bottom-right corner. Even if I didn't know that the word is EARN, a quick glance at all of Jamie's 4-letter words shows that it has to be EARN because EARN is the only word that shares a first letter with the last letter of another 4-letter word (since they intersect) (it could also be AIDE since the other word could be AREA, but there's no 4-letter word that begins in R to come off of the R in AREA). Does that make sense? You can pick almost any place in the crossword and quickly figure out what the 1 or 2 possible words are that it could be. And since everything in Jamie's is really interweaved, once you have 1 word it's pretty easy to fit everything else into place. What works about mine is that even if you were given several of the words, there are still enough possibilities that it's virtually impossible to figure out anything else, because every single intersection is either on an R, S, T, or E, so you can never know for certain what a word is until you find a solution for the entire puzzle, of which there should statistically only be one. Anyway, I know Jamie put a ton of work into hers, so I hate to be a bitch about it... but if we could use mine, that would be awesome. I'd at least ask that anyone who hasn't tried them both at least try and see, cause I think you'll see mine's much much harder, if not almost impossible. So yeah. Can we use mine pleeeease?

There is definitely no need to apologize. I'm really easy going so long as the one that is chosen over mine really is the best And in this case it was. You did a lot of good work with that Ethan and I think it totally rocked. Its a winner! And though it is late, I too, give my consent to use Ethan's most recent puzzle over any of the other options.

I just did my Puzzle in 12 minutes. And it was pretty tough too. Good luck to everyone else, hopefully this time will help carry us! I guess I'm good at doing puzzles, but not making them. LOL.

I did mine in 11 minutes. So far it looks like we have a solid time. I figure that means that we're averaging it?

*Knocks on wood* We definitely didn't lose though, I mean we CAN'T with a average time in the very low teens.

::knocks on wood:: I don't see how anyone could've done much better than what we pulled off for a tribe average.

My time was 10 minutes. From the looks of it we have a very good chance to be immune.
