*Walks up to voting booth*
Here it is... here we go! Final Tribal Council... THE true final one, unless there's another All-Stars, like Survivor: All-Stars' All-Stars. That would ROCK! And I'd end up first one voted out >_>
Anywho. Here we have the Final 2. We have, to quote the jury, a cocky guy and the UTR lady. One person that had controlled this game since the formation of the Xavante tribe, and one person that stood back, admittingly not playing until her husband was voted out, and only waiting until Final 5 to make her move.
Let's analyze what I think of each person's gameplay... we'll start with Matt O. I've told everyone since Annette was voted out that Ovambo was a strong group. According to the stories... that was the case up until Lew and Jamie were voted out. After that, Matt had no inclination that things were going to get broken up. Katie jumped to their side and essentially was in charge on voting out Tori, Ryan, and myself. Matt claimed to have had control with that vote... but the jury seems to claim that Matt has turned into a cocky figure, trying to take credit for way too much. I don't really know, and it's tough to differentiate betwen what I think, and what the jury thinks.
But when we look at Jen... we have someone that admitted to not starting any strategical game until her husband got voted out. That could be decent strategy as it got her Final 2... but at what price? She claimed that she tried to be UTR in hopes that it would make people not want to vote for her right away... but she didn't realize that she got votes BECAUSE she was UTR. She also said somewhere that she tried her hardest in this game... but I honestly haven't seen where she was trying. Maybe that's because we only shared around 3 conversations, each one being initiated by myself, but it feels like Jen was just there for this whole game. She didn't leave any true impact (other than the vote queen) until Final 5, when she voted against Tyler. If she carried through with that plan, voting out Matt D. and then using Stacy's vote to get rid of Matt O., I might have been able to vote for her. Heck, even if she did none of that and it was her and Tyler in Final 2, I would have voted for her. But she made many mistakes at the end.
Voting out Tyler... a great plan because she can look like a strategical genius. But then she claims that she felt bad enough to want to keep her alliance with Matt O. No offense to her, but that was dumb. Voting out Stacy might have been an okay move since Matt O. had immunity, but voting out Matt D. afterwards was dumb. Matt O. had Matt D.'s vote against him, and Jen could have chalked up a win against Matt D. because the jury had been talking into not voting for him because of his sneakiness. But Matt O.? I don't understand why Jen felt she could win against him, but maybe after confessionals are opened, we'll have a better understanding.
And also, her closing statements were a turn-off to me. To me, it sounded like she blamed us for making her game so bad. I don't think so. This entire rant explains my rationale of what turned me off about her game. But then there's Matt O...
Matt had control of 90% of this game. He was in the majority of this game from Day 1 until he voted out people that he could have trusted. Jamie and Lew were people that would've been loyal to Ovambo, and although I don't mind that they were voted out and that Tori and I remained until F10/F8, he was taking a gamble. Then again, it was really he and Tyler that were the gamblers. Matt never seemed to give credit to people for making plans and voting with him in the game. He tried to make himself sound like the much better player... which, the jury gave remarks to. I thought Matt was a good player, being a good cop to Tyler's bad cop... but he never really mentioned that strategy, so I may have been wrong about him. Granted, he did do something right to have had the right votes until the Tyler vote (excluding Lynne's). And even after that, he somehow became the sure-as-hell fourth place player to a Final 2 opponent against someone that didn't really show enough care in this game. With that being said...
