Christ, we won again! Actually, I'm glad I wasn't there for the challenge. Although
Better yet, the core is taking shape. I'm in the middle, with my wingmen, Tilghman and Laurel, on either side of me. I don't like that Tilghman won't be around for a while, but we can work around that. Actually, it got us a chance to REALLY talk about the game, about who should be voted out and what we all think about the rest of the tribe.
I think I've earned trust with both of them, Laurel especially. Tilghman might see me as trying to control the game, but I think he also sees that we're making things happen here. He also probably thinks he can hide behind me, and that's fine. But I've been frank with them both, I've told them what I know about previous games, and I haven't lied yet.
Lexie, as I've said before, it doesn't look great for her. I would like to at least get a chance to talk to her soon though. But as I talked with Laurel and Tilghman about her, it came to be that I can't consider her as an alliance member unless we have no other choice (that is, unless the other four members have all teamed up). Realizing that she probably wrote that anti-alliance poem was a revelation to me, and I hope it was the correct one.
We all think that Lynne is likely to be in a group, maybe with Kevin already. Laurel thinks Matt is feeling like an outsider, which is fantastic. If you're feeling outside the loop and someone offers you an invite, you'll jump at the chance. It's gotten Laurel on my side, and maybe we can do the same with Matt.
Laurel is a great person to talk to, and I think she's a loyal one as well. We've agreed on a lot so far. I do want her and Tilghman to get a positive relationship though, I don't think they've talked enough. Of course, I don't want them to talk TOO much and get any ideas against me, but for them both to trust me, they need to trust each other as well. After I chatted with both of them, I hid behind a tree when I was saying I'd left (READ: got online with another name), and noticed that they stuck around with each other for a few minutes. That's good. You get a bit paranoid that anytime your allies are together they're plotting against you, but them chatting is something that has to be done.
I really need to talk to Matt, Will, and Lynne though. Just to keep up appearances. And if we do want to include any of them in a group if they aren't already there, it's always better to build up a relationship before it comes to that point.
Well, we've had a bit of a rest, but in a couple days, it will all begin anew. Who knows what's coming up? And when will we meet another tribe? THAT'S going to be interesting. Regardless of any groups that we've got in a tribe, we absolutely HAVE to avoid alienating anyone. Like I said to Laurel, if say, me, her, Tilghman and Matt got together after Lexie was voted out and said "ARGH, WE ARE ALLIES AND WE HAVE MORE THAN YOU", and then we meet another tribe, Kevin, Will and Lynne will run to join them and curbstomp us brutally, starting with me. No matter what, we have to stay unified.
Unless, of course, it's me who's doing the running. But that's just a last resort plan in the back of my mind. You need it, you just have it just in case, but you don't want to use it unless you have to. And I won't abandon my wingmen unless I really don't have another choice.
